SECTIONS
The PSA Photo Travel Division offers two projected image sections for the 2013 PSA International:

(1) Open section
(2) People at Work of Play section

All entries in the Open section must conform to the Photo Travel Definition given below.

All entries in the People at Work or Play section must conform to the Photo Travel Definition given below and the People at Work or Play Definition given below.

An entry consists of 1-4 *.jpg digital images in one section by a single person. Entries in each section will be judged in 4 rounds using a 15 point scoring system (1-5 points/judge).

The exhibition is open to anyone; however, an entry may be rejected when the sponsoring organization or its agent, in its reasonable discretion, believes the entry does not conform to the exhibition rules and conditions.

A FRIENDLY NOTE - Please read these Information and Conditions of Entry fully. The information and requirements are not there to make things more difficult for you. They are there to maximize having your images projected at their best for judging and to maximize your chances for acceptances and awards.

PHOTO TRAVEL DEFINITION
A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive features or culture in its natural state. There are no geographical limitations. Close-up pictures of people or objects must include distinguishable environment. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Conversion to full monochrome is acceptable. Derivations including infrared are unacceptable.

Informative Note: Commercial paid setups of photographic opportunities for the purpose of Travel Photography, such as camels across sand dunes, an indian on horseback at Ford's Point and similar situations, is not considered photography of a land or a culture in its "natural state" and should not be submitted. Street photography where the photographer has approached a subject and requested a pose is not considered a commercial paid setup and is allowed.

PEOPLE AT WORK OR PLAY DEFINITION
People at Work or Play is a Photo Travel slide, print or digital image that shows people engaged in everyday “At Work” and “At Play” activities in interesting and unique ways which capture a sense of a place or culture. Close-ups are discouraged due to inadequate Photo Travel stories. “At Play” images should not include sports photography unless they portray a Photo Travel story of people actively engaged in a sport unique to a region or culture.

Informative Note: It is not sufficient for people to be in the image, the people engaged in an activity must be the subject of the image and not a supporting element. The people engaged in the activity and the activity itself should be of equal importance. Close-ups of people that do not place them in their cultural environment are discouraged.

PayPal is available for payment on-line. Please note that you do not need to have a personal PayPal account to pay using PayPal, just a valid debit or credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover Card, American Express). Please do not combine payments for Photo Travel Division projected sections with payments for other sections in this Exhibition and/or for other people on the same transaction. If you do have your own personal PayPal account you must still use the Exhibition's PayPal form to submit your payment.

Entrants may pay in US Dollars by cash or check. All checks must be made payable to “PSA” and must be drawn on a US bank. Entrants are requested to notify the Photo Travel Division Chairman above if they intend to pay by cash or check. IRC's are not an acceptable form of payment.

Any entry without paid entry fees at the time of judging will not be judged.

MAKER'S NAME
The maker’s name and/or the image title must not be in the image area or in any other area visible to the judges of any digital files, slides or prints. This includes copyrights.

PREVIOUSLY ACCEPTED IMAGES
An image (or a nearly identical in-camera duplicate) previously accepted in any PSA International Photo Travel section is not eligible for entry in any Photo Travel section of the 2013 PSA International.

Informative Note: PSA Recognized Exhibitions are not "THE" PSA International Exhibition. Images accepted in PSA Recognized Exhibitions but not in a past Photo Travel section of the PSA International Exhibition may be submitted in the Photo Travel sections of the 2013 PSA International provided they meet the specified Definition.

DUPLICATE IMAGES
The same image may not be submitted in more than one Photo Travel Division section of the 2013 PSA International regardless of the media. This means that the same image may not be submitted in both Photo Travel projected sections or either of the Photo Travel print sections. This does not prevent the same images from being submitted in Nature, Pictorial Prints or Photojournalism sections provided they meet the requirements of those sections. Please note: Different images with the same title or the same image with different titles will still be considered the same image.

ORIGINAL IMAGE STATEMENT
Entries must originate as photographs (image-captures of object via light sensitivity) made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. By virtue of submitting an entry, the entrant certifies the work as his/her own (aliases are not permitted) and permits the sponsors to reproduce all or part of the entered material free of charge for publication and/or display in media related to the exhibition. This will include the Exhibition (audio-visual program) of the accepted images to be shown at the 2013 PSA Conference and may include use in the PSA Journal and low resolution posting of acceptances on a web site. Images where entrants do not give this permission will be disqualified. The exhibition assumes no liability of any misuse of copyright. All final work must be on photographic film, digital file, on photographic print material or digital print material. Digital images may be acquired digitally or scanned from traditional film to create a digital file. Images may be altered, either digitally or otherwise, by the maker and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated if the photographic content predominates.

LICENSE AGREEMENT
The On-Line Entry Form includes a voluntary License Agreement as follows: I hereby give PSA permission to use my submitted images in PSA Educational Programs produced on CD's, DVD's or in Downloadable form, using ProShow Gold or equivalent software that does not allow program users access to individual images, for use by PSA Members, Clubs, Chapters and Councils wherever they may be. I am of Legal Age, and own all rights to these images, including copyright, or my parent or guardian gives permission on my behalf if I am not of Legal Age.

Informative Note: This License Agreement is over and above the permissions granted in the Original Image Statement above. The Judges will not be informed of the status of the License Agreement. Not accepting this License Agreement in no way affects whether the images submitted are accepted or disqualified.

CATALOG
Images accepted in this Exhibition will be eligible for inclusion in Photo Travel Division Star Ratings applications by PSA members subject to the requirements of the Photo Travel Division. An on-line 8½"x11" PDF Exhibition Catalog listing all acceptances in all four Photo Travel Sections of the 2013 PSA International Exhibition is included with your entry fee. A link will be included on the Exhibition Web Site www.psaexhibition.com so you can email the Catalog to yourself and save as an electronic file and/or print out. The Catalog will be formatted for printing on both standard 8½"x11" paper and standard A4 (8-1/4”x12”) paper. This is the same Catalog that will be provided to the Photo Travel Division Star Ratings Directors and the Photo Travel Division Who's Who Directors and includes color reproductions of the medal winning images. Printed hard copies of the Catalogs will not be mailed the the entrants.

TITLES
Each Image must have a unique title. Once an image has been accepted in any PSA Recognized Exhibition, regardless of section or Division, that same image, or a like “in camera” or a “reproduction” duplicate of that image may not be retitled if used in any other PSA Recognized Exhibition. Words such as "Untitled" and "No Title" are not acceptable as part or all of an image's title, nor are camera capture filenames or titles consisting of only numbers.

Titles will not be read aloud during judging.

Please limit titles to 35 characters including spaces and punctuation. The Entry Form software will clip any excess characters resulting in an incomplete title for inclusion in the Catalog. This will cause problems when applying for Star Ratings.

COLOR SPACE
Convert image files to sRGB color space to provide provide the best image quality under the projection conditions used for judging the exhibition and producing the exhibition show. Other color spaces or undefined color spaces can degrade you images and result in lower scores.Do not use CMYK color space. CMYK images will not project correctly during judging.

SIZE LIMITS
Maximum digital image width (horizontal) is 1400 pixels.
Maximum digital image height (vertical) is 1050 pixels.

Images larger in either dimension will be rejected by the entry software, even if it is only 1 pixel off. The maximum horizontal and vertical dimensions cannot be swapped.

FILE NAMES
You do not have to follow any naming convention for your .jpg files when you enter. The on-line entry form software will properly rename your files to meet the needs of our exhibition software.

PUBLIC EXHIBITIONS
Accepted Images, including award winners, will be on display at www.psaexhibition.com. Selected images* and all award winners will also be shown at the 2013 PSA International Conference in Portland, Maine between September 16, 2013 and September 22, 2013.

*Time constraints may prevent showing all Projected Image Division acceptances at the Conference. All award winners will be shown. Accepted images not included in the show will still get full credit towards Photo Travel Division Star Ratings and Who's Who listings and will be in the Photo Travel Division PDF On-Line catalog.

STATUS LIST
The entries are processed periodically and the status reported on the Exhibition Web Site. The status report heading indicates the time/date of the last status list update and the next scheduled status list update. Please be patient. Do not expect an immediate update.

If any problems are noted on the status list, please contact the Photo Travel Chairman by going to the Photo Travel Division menu on the Exhibition Web Site and clicking on Send Email to Chairman to resolve.

EMAIL SPAM BLOCKING
Report Cards will be sent to entrants via email from the Chairman’s Email Address above. Please be sure that this email address has been included in your “safe” email addresses to assure receipt of these emails instead of having them blocked by your security system. Also check your Junk E-Mail or spam folder to see if any messages from the exhibition were put there by your email software.

Confirmations of entry submittals will be computer-generated emails from www.psaexhibition.com. Computer-generated emails are automatically blocked bysome internet email servers so please contact them in accordance with their instructions to allow any computer generated emails from www.psaexhibition.com if they do not show up in either your Inbox or your Junk E-Mail folder.

PayPal confirmation for on-line payments will come directly from PayPal using the sender address service@paypal.com and will be addressed to you using your name as entered on the PayPal page.

DOUBLE CHECK
Please review the information you fill-in on the entry form before clicking the Submit button. After you submit your electronic entry, you will receive an email confirming your name, address, email, etc. plus the image titles you typed in. Please review the information you entered. If you made any errors, especially any typos in the Image Titles, please contact the Projected Image Chairman by going to the Projected Image menu on the Exhibition Web Site and clicking on Send Email to Chairman to resolve. Check the thumbnails on your confirmation to be sure you attached the correct image for each title. Whether you pushed the wrong key or not, the information you entered on the entry form, including names, titles, city and countries you entered on the entry form will be the ones listed in the Catalog if the images are accepted.

SUBMITTING IMAGES
All images must be submitted On-Line using the Digital Entry Form. After you have carefully read these “Information and Conditions of Entry”, and after double checking to make sure your images are no larger than 1400 pixels wide and no larger than 1050 pixels high, go back to the main menu and click on the box labeled Digital Image Entry Forms, fill out the data entry form, attach your image files and submit them. 

Digital entries on CD via postal mail will not be accepted.

If you have trouble submitting your digital images on-line please contact the Photo Travel Chairman by going to the Photo Travel Division menu on the Exhibition Web Site and clicking on Send Email to Chairman to resolve.
