The PSA Photojournalism Division offers two print sections for the 2009 PSA International: (1) Open section (2) Human Interest section All entries in the Open section must conform to the Photojournalism Definition given below. All entries in the Human Interest section must conform to the Photojournalism Definition given below and the Human Interest Definition given below. |

Entry Fees |
Non-Return Print Fees Return Print Fees An entry consists of 4 prints in a section. Entries will be judged in 4 rounds by section. Any entry without paid entry fees at the time of judging will not be judged. IRC's are not an acceptable form of payment. |

Catalog |
An on-line 8½"x11" PDF Exhibition Catalog for all sections in the Division is included with your entry fee. A link will be included on the Exhibition Web Site so you can email the Catalog to yourself and save as an electronic file and/or print out. This is the same Catalog that will be provided to the Division Star Ratings Director and includes color reproductions of the medal winning images. |

Photojournalism Definition |
Photojournalism entries shall consist of pictures or sequences with informative content and emotional impact, including human interest, documentary and spot news. The journalistic value of the photograph must be considered over the pictorial quality. In the interest of credibility, photographs that misrepresent the truth, such as manipulation to alter the subject matter, or situations which are set up for the purpose of photography, are unacceptable in Photojournalism competition. No pictorial elements may be moved, cloned, added, deleted, rearranged or combined. No manipulation or modification is permitted except resizing, cropping, selective lightening or darkening, sharpening, and restoration of original color to the scene. Any adjustments must appear natural. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Human Interest Definition |
Human Interest is defined as a photojournalism image depicting a person or persons in an interactive, emotional or unusual situation, excluding sports action. |

Titles |
Titles will not be read aloud during judging. Please limit titles to 35 characters including spaces and punctuation. The Entry Form software will clip any excess characters resulting in an incomplete title. Titles on the Entry Form, complete or not, will be the title included in the catalog. |

Prints may not exceed 12 inches (30 centimeters) in the longest dimension |

Submitting Entries |
Prior to shipping your prints you must complete the on-line Print Entry Form. This filled-in form must be mailed with the prints to the address indicated on the Entry Form. After you have carefully read these "information and instructions", click here to fill out the Print Entry Form and email it to yourself to print it out to include with the prints. You will receive a separate email for each section you enter. Both must be included with your prints if you enter both sections. NOTE: This not a requirement to email your prints. You must mail your prints by post. A check box is provided on the Print Entry Form to give permission to destroy the prints after the Exhibition. Entrants giving this permission must sign the emailed Entry Form and can pay fees based on the Non-Return Fees above. All other entrants must pay fees based on the Return Fees above. All prints must be shipped unmounted and flat regardless the country of origin. Stiffeners are recommended to prevent damage during shipping. Unless you elected the Non-Return option, prints should be packaged so the shipping materials can be reused to return the prints to you. |
